I've begun the process of providing categories for Forum topic assignment. Please let me know if you think the categories I've provided up to now seem appropriate, or what changes you would like to see. I'm trying to keep the total number of categories down, if possible, but am completely open to your suggestions.

John - perhaps a category for posting AARs of games played - although one could post in the appropriate group depending on topic...
how about some sort of locator board, I have just moved to eastern NC and would love to meet some gamers

Understood. Hopefully everyone enters where they reside in our Member profile page here so one can search our member directory. We also have the new geographic map display at the bottom of the main page.

If there is not one now, I would like to see a category for finding other gamers, perhaps organized by geographic or metro area and then game type or series.

I'll have to look into it...will most likely be part of our upgrade scheduled for beginning of Feb.

How about a Vassal looking for opponents forum?  We have a really good group on Facebook that works very well, but not everyone uses Facebook.

Tom,

That's an excellent suggestion.  I'm not doing the Facebook thing.  Would be a great way to find opponents given Vassal's poor job of doing it internally.

Sorry this isn't a Forum suggestion, but in the spirit of continous improvement, how about link to comsimworldnews?

For our locator board, please check out the Members tab and do a search by location. Better yet, if folks have entered their location, the map we display at the bottom of the home page works best.

Good suggestion, Steve, re: AARs. I'll see what we can do. I'm not sure we have sub-categories possible on this site, however.
