anyone in the Columbus GA area interested in playing any of the GBoH games......or anyone interested in playing pbem.
Just finished "Persian Fire" by Tom Holland, I so have to get Hoplite back on the Table.

Great map of Roman Empire.
GBoH is auto-buy for me, so I've had Hoplite for a while.
Only got to play it a couple of times near the beginning of the month,
and seemed a good solid entry into the family. I still like Chariots of Fire
best in the series though. :D
It's an excellent game, Hoplite. Lavishly illustrated with fine counter artwork and the best rulebook in the GBoH series, with ample illustrated examples of play. Alan Ray worked his magic on the rulebook, for sure. I was lucky enough to be on the playtest team and played every scenario a number of times, including Plataea, which we played twice. But I've not played Hoplite since it was published - most of my spare time has beed dedicated to building the new Vassal module for Hoplite. Hopefully it'll be ready in mid-July if not before.
Just received a copy of Hoplite as an anniversary present. Unboxing revealed the usual high standard of product with some significant rule changes. This will be top of my list for some playtesting in the near future. Has anyone else bought this latest edition to GBOH?
Someone noted over at BGG that it looks likely to be the result of automated pricing
algorithms performing pathologically in response to one another.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone noted the algorithm used to undercut, and
deliberately wrote their own to screw it over.
What is it with the SPQR game selling on Amazon for over $4100?
