too bad I'm not home, my dad lives in Amherst (close to Stevens Point), I'd give Flat Top a go.

I first played Russian Campaign in 1986?? I have played FT, GOA, RF,PAA, PB/PL, and so many more. At age 39... I have returned to College and am doing my best to introduce these games to the youth of America. I have 3 people interested in FT... they guys only know computer games and these board games blow them away. RF is also popular with these three. Does nayone have any new info or group info concerning FT?

Avalon Hill games that never did a thing for me: (1) KRIEGSPIEL, (2) LUFTWAFFE, (3) CHANCELLORSVILLE, (4) GUNS OF AUGUST, (5) WAR AND PEACE, (6) GETTYSBURG (any edition--you name it), (7) FLIGHT LEADER, (8) FRANCE: 1940 (although I so much wanted to like it), (9) FURY IN THE WEST (another one I so much wanted to like), (10) HITLER'S WAR.

Here's my favorite Avalon Hill Games: (1) Old SQUAD LEADER with the CROSS OF IRON gamette. Even beats ASL. Seriously. (2) RUSSIAN CAMPAIGN (3) TURNING POINT: STALINGRAD (4) AIR ASSAULT ON CRETE (5) TAC AIR (6) STRUGGLE OF NATIONS (7) FREDERICK THE GREAT (8) PANZERGRUPPE GUDERIAN (9) PANZERKRIEG (10) THE LONGEST DAY (11) CONQUISTADOR (12) EMPIRES IN ARMS (13) FLAT TOP (14) AIR FORCE/DAUNTLESS (15) BISMARCK (16) SUBMARINE (17) WOODEN SHIPS AND IRON MEN (18) STARSHIP TROOPERS (1st Ed) (19) MBT and (20) FIREPOWER. Runners up include DIPLOMACY, KINGMAKER, TRIREME, SIEGE OF JERUSALEM, and SAMURAI.

Older Avalon Hill games that I once loved but time has passed them by: (A) ADVANCED THIRD REICH/THIRD REICH, (B)EMPIRE OF THE RISING SUN, TOBRUK, (C) PANZERBLITZ/PANZER LEADER, (D) PANZER ARMEE AFRIKA, (E) DEVIL'S DEN, (F) RUSSIAN FRONT, (G) JUTLAND, (H) BATTLE OF THE BULGE '81 (I) BITTER WOODS, (J) CAESAR: ALESIA, (K) 1776, (L) CAESAR'S LEGIONS.

The old AH game Blackbeard has been redone by GMT and Richard Berg. Has anyone played the old version?

Best of Avalon Hill: Diplomacy, Machiavelli, Siege of Jerusalem, History of the World, Hannibal, Origins of World War II, Third Reich, Civilization.

I was introduce into the hobby with Christmas gifts from mom and dad back in the 60s - Afrika Korps and Jutland. Played both of them to death with buddies. Dad and I played Afrika Korps quite a bit. I have since lost those 2 games through one too many moves...and growing up as a military brat we moved a lot. Mustangs, Guadalcanal and Richtofen's War are my only remaining AH games....

As for computer games - I enjoyed 5th Fleet and still play Flight Commander II. I did have Crusader and enjoyed playing that. I think for the most part I get the impression they did not port well. I never did play Third Reich for the PC nor Wooden Ships and Iron Men.

Here's a question for you. A lot of Avalon Hill games were ported to the computer over the years, with varied degrees of success. What are your favorites? What were the real dogs? And which games do you wish had been ported to computer games?
