Of course if they don't send out review copies it's harder to get noticed except in the forums....

One of my personal favorites is Storm Over Taierzhuang.  Very cool game on a neglected subject.

I'm considering a purchase of a few of the ATO magazine games, but reviews are scarce.  What are the best titles?  I already have Not War, but Murder. Buffalo Wings looks interesting, as does Four Roads, and Falaise.

I'll be at Origins starting tomorrow, with a big box of TPS goodness, at the ATO booth.

Folks,
The Hegemon asked me to pass along a message. ATO started accepting orders for the TPS line at the WBC's. He really planned to talk about it on the regular forums, hopefully all of us will be able to pick up the TPS discussion over there shortly.

Having finished Avalanche Press' "They Shall not Pass" as Henri Petain yesterday, I am dying to look for more WWI blood stains all over trenches and shell scrap flying around. The game really fills all one's dream of imaginations about what a WWI it really was: blood-charging into the trenches, artillery shelling, high counters loss (death) rates, and yet a room-manouvering game. I really hope his system can further develop into some WWI tactical battles series.

Since the game focuses on only what happened on the right bank of the Metz river in the initial 9 days, the later French counterattack on the left is not included. Greeding for more, I am now looking forward to Roger Nord's treatment on the same battle later in the year with "Verdun: A Lost Generation" and see how he would have portrayed the wole campaign with his "The Big Push" system.

Battle of Lissa....Hmmm.....that little naval war prompted me to see where and what was the battle actually about when I played the scenario in Wooden Ship and Iron Men.

ATO #26 (There Must be a Victory - Italian vs. Austro-Hungarians 1866) arrives in Mpls. Looks good. Already got the Mr.EE article out of the way :-)

Really looking forward to the next two issues (Raicer and the southern ARW games), but not the air game slated for #29. Always like the ATO strategic level games like the Boer War, Guerra a Muerte, Dark and Bloody Ground, the Mexican War, Galipoli, etc. Hope to see more of those make it thru the pipeline.
