I'm going to go with Wittman's definition of what makes a "Beer and Pretzels" wargame--a game that you can play reasonably well/competently after drinking a 6 pack." Okay. Using that standard, here's the newest "beer and pretzels" games I'd put on the list:

-- Practically any of the Victory Point wargames. Anybody disagree? I'm not knocking them, either. Nice, tight games in smaller formats.

-- Those little postcard games that AGAINST THE ODDS MAGAZINE puts out. I must say, I do like them!

-- GMT's COMBAT COMMANDER series. The friction level is so high, why not have that 6 pack. It won't make a difference to the outcome all that much, will it?

-- Those wonderful DOWN IN FLAMES series games, so long as you aren't playing any campaigns!

-- GMT's MANOEUVRE. Maybe. Only if you've been playing it a while and know what you are doing.

-- Lock 'N Load's TANK ON TANK. Why this isn't a $10.00 game is beyond me--it would get more exposure and more people playing it over lunchtime (for those who can have a 6 pack over lunch).
thanks for the list , eric!GMT's MANOEUVRE? cool, have to check that out....
Yep,Any VPG game for sure

DG's new updates of the SPI Folio's

Manoeuvre is a great fast game! So are the Command & Colors games

A few of the games in S&T/World at War magazine are good easy games. Many being of the Folio gender.
I guess you could add most Vae Victis games to the list.

Dan Holte(DDH) is doing great little games. They do take more thought to them but are small and play in an evening or afternoon.

I consider Commands and Colors beer and Pretzels games. Don't get me wrong I own all of the CCA expansions and it  is my favorite game system as well as CCN. They are easy to teach and grasp which is great to introduce to new players.
