BFP 3 Blood and Jungle -- Information and Updates

With numerous questions regarding this upcoming product, decided to put out some info.

Not sure when this will go up for preorder, but hopefully it will be sometime in 2009. PTing is 99% complete and we are well into the editing and layout process. the problem is that the contents are so extrensive, it is going to take a while to ensure we get it all right.
Additionally, with the large number of components this product is sure to retail at over $100.

General components are a special map, geoboard, magazine, player aid, over 40 scenarios, numerous countersheets. Counters include all kinds of stuff from all kinds of nationalities that are not currently in the system, as well as Japanese Paratroops, aircraft, etc. Several scenarios use these. Definitely want to wait to let all of the specific information out.

For those that have commented they dont like to play the USMC and caves. IIRC maybe 10% of the scenarios are USMC, and there are no cave complexes. A handful of scenarios have some caves but they compliment other fortifications. I can assure that there a wide variety of nationalities, terrain, etc, that add a lot of diversity to the scenarios in this.

Guys,

Progress continues, but it feels like an inch at a time rather than great strides. Everyone on the team is working hard at some aspect of layout or editing. Since the last update one board is complete, 3 chapter H layed out and in editing, scenario counterart complete with a couple of exceptions, scenarios layed out and in editing, about half the articles in publication layout and pretty done with editing.

Anyway, B and J is coming along, but we still have a lot of hard work to do. Will keep you udpated as we can.; ▶ Reply to This

BFP3: Blood and Jungle is our first Battlepack based in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The unprecedented size of this product makes it unique in our industry, and follows in our tradition of high quality, exciting scenarios.

General content includes:

47 scenarios. They range from early 1930s Japanese vs. Chinese Action to 1947 KNIL (Dutch) vs. Indonesians. The scenarios range from tourny to monster, all infantry to combined arms, etc. A good chunk of the action does not necessarily have PTO Terrain in effect. Basically there is something in here for everyone scenario wise.

A large magazine with a variety of articles all with a PTO theme.

4 countersheets. Japanese Partially Armed Paratroopers, 5/8" counters for a variety of nationalities either rare/not in the system/captured: Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, KNIL, US, Aussie.... and maybe some surprises.

Essentially 3 mapboards. One is our 'double wide' concept. The boards fit together for a large urban battlefield, and are geomorphic on all of the other sides.

Without a doubt this is a monster product, which I like to call 'the OtO of the PTO'. YMMV on this but I am fully confident if you like PTO you will love this product. If you are new and not necessarily interested in PTO, you will still really like this product.

We are ready to send this to the printers, so we are now taking pre-orders. Printing will take at least 4-6 weeks, so we should start shipping in January. Pre-order pricing is $104 for US and Canadian orders and $113 for everywhere else. As always this price INCLUDES all shipping and handling. Once we roll this out, retail price will be $125, so take advantage of the pre-order price and immerse yourself in all things PTO.
