Plans are in place to have copies in hand at WO next week! The lucky few that are there will be the first to see and play the scenarios, and push the new counters on new maps.

And… We’re Done
As of this morning, everything for Blood & Jungle has been sent to the printers. It took months of hard work by all of us, but the end result will surely be worth waiting for.

For the main printer, I transferred 2.25 GB of compressed digital goodness, and 11 MB to the counter printers.

With the hard part of this project behind us, we are looking ahead to next year and planning our next two releases. Not enough decisions finalized at this point to announce anything, but we will be in full production again in January.

"Only 1 or 2 scenarios left getting their final tweeks..."

I volunteer to play test some more to get those last 2 scenarios finished. The heck with summer vacation. hehe

Thanks for the update.

thanks for the update David. I'll probably pick it up anyway, as most of my gaming is VASL.

Shane - gonna have to disappoint you. You will need both CoB and GH, plus FKaK or WoA, and Yanks to play most of the scenz. To play them all you will also need Doomed Battalions and Armies of Oblivion, Croix de Guerre, and Partisan. A vast majority of the scenz (90%) require the Japanese &/or Chinese to play. If it is any help, my chat with Brian Youse at MMP the other day indicated they plan to have the new combined CoB and GH module ready for re-release sometime during the first half of 2010...but we all know how well MMP keeps to their projected release dates. :) I'll keep on bugging them about it. Not that it will make them work harder but I will feel good about not just sitting and waiting around. Till then, looks like you will need to VASL your games.

Joe - the original plan for Blood and Jungle was to have it ready for release at ASLOK. AFAIK that is still Chas' plan. Only 1 or 2 scenarios left getting their final tweeks Counters are almost complete and being pre-proofed even now. Some of the articles are done but not all are finalized and have the layout complete. We're working hard to try to keep the ASLOK release date. I know Chas will post it on the forums once he's sure all is in readyness to go to print. It's been a lot of work but it is gonna be great!

Any estimates on when Blood and Jungle will go on pre-order?

Brian, what specific core modules are required to play BFP3? I would love to PTO it up, but cannot get my hands on Code of Bushido or Gung Ho for reasonable prices.

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother. I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.

Lately, I've been mad at Newsweek, due to issues of bias that are beyond the realm of this group.  However, tonight I read a very good article on its web site, regarding layoffs.I was once in a meeting at a former employer, and we were going over th…

The game on the development table now is Rob Markham's Saratoga.  This game covers the decisive battle of the American Revolution tactically, with two scenarios.  One addresses the Battle of Freeman's Farm on September 19, and the other is on the Ba…

I'd love to see more open source work, but I'm especially thinking of computer games. That would allow not just designers, but the developers, to look "under the hood" to see what makes a good game work. Even if that education is taken to commercial…

What I think will be coolest about the concept is the use of touch displays to pick up and move counters, etc. and swipe the display with a finger to quickly scroll and view the map. All this while having a live chat window or audio option to talk t…
