@John - Yeah I probably should have said Columbia SC and not Cola, that is a bad on my part sorry, just so used to how the locals refer to the area now.

Hope you do not mind my selfishness in hoping you find someone to help with the drive, I really want this to take off and become an ongoing staple at RoundCon's. I do have the great fortune of having on Bryan Collars living local to me so I am hoping I can con him into attending/playing ... You hear that Bryan?

One of the things that I really like about CC is the RSG combined with the fact that you are at the mercy of the cards you have in your hand. I cannot tell you how many times I have been frustrated by not having the right card to be able to accomplish something. It really makes the game variable enough that I continually want to go back to it and play a scenario over and over.

I setup my first CC:E with the Stalingrad Battle Pack - "Into the Breach!" scenario.  Cannot wait to see how it will play out, it's going to be bloody!  Really like the random setup, it potentially would let you play this scenario over and over!

Good Luck with RoundCon 2011.1.  Took me a while to find "Cola" on the map since you meant Columbia which may be clear to locals but for this yankee I had to do some searching.  Unfortunately I think the 14 hr drive from NY will be too much for me unless I find someone to share with the driving.  I added this note however, with a link to information about the con for Northerners who might want to be in South Carolina in October!

OK let's see how many people might be interested and actually make the trip to Cola SC. RoundCon is coming up in October of 2011. I am fortunate enough to be the boardgames coordinator for the convention and am hoping to have a Combat Commander tournament. I am just starting to look at how many seats in the tournament to list.

Hopefully I can get enough to make the tournament a staple at the convention but I will need the help of the wargamers to do so.

"I had the chance to play test CC:Resistance at GMT East..."

Thank you for taking the time to check it out. We are working hard on grinding the scenarios through the playtest mill and are connecting with the art department to wrap this project up soon.

John Foley puts in a lot of time, thought and effort on his scenarios and I believe that shows when you sit down to play them. And they are "wicked" good. :0)

"Any chance of Combat Commander going to the Spanish Civil War? "

I looked into it and realized I don't have the knowledge base to make it work. I did a bunch of reading on the subject and still don't feel I have a solid grasp on it. If you do, take a crack at it.

I had the chance to play test CC:Resistance at GMT East, playing against Cindy Nowak and sitting next to the great John Foley.  I can't wait for Resistance to come out, it was a blast.  Lots of tweaks to the mechanics to fit the nature of the resistance forces and some imaginative Scenarios.  Both Cindy and I decided that John Foley has a twisted sense of evil built into this game.  If New Guinea is half as good as resistance I may have to take time off work just to play it!

I am also interested in WWI.  Roger Nord is developing a CC based game called Great War Commander which I had the pleasure of playtesting at WBC the last two years.  I hope this makes it to the P500 list soon.
