Is anyone using the Waypoint markers in Vassal? I can set them up easy enough but my apponent can see a white outline even though they are hidden and the waypoint number and waypoint altitude letters also show up.

Is this a bug in the Vassal module?

I can’t find it specifically mentioned in the rules, but does anyone know if the US player is allowed to view the flak density of a located inactive flak battery before it activates?

The cool thing about Downtown/EV is that the rules are really quite straight-forward, logical, and presented in a way that made it easy for me to jump into the game.

Corey, You should know that Burning Blue is not the same system as Downtown and EV. I can't comment on BB because I haven't played it yet, but Downtown and EV are great.

I played scenario EV2--I think it was called "fighting back." From the Six Day War.

Which scenario was that?

Just wrapped up EV2. The IAF shredded the UARAF. Three SU-7s and two MiG-21s were splashed, and one MiG-21 was crippled by Mirages. All the poor Egyptians could manage was to damage a Mystere with AAA, and force two aborts with SAM fire. One flight of SU-7s managed to get to their target, but rolled badly on the attack and caused no damage. Israeli mud-movers did better scoring three heavy damages and two slight damages on the Egyptian ground forces retreating towards the Canal.

I really want to play this on VASSAL. I'll be available on Sunday evening if anyone's up for a game. I live in US Mountain TZ.

I found that to be the case with the Downtown mod...Torsten was the one who nurtured that one along thru versions 2 and 3.

No, I'm not. IIRC, the same fellow who did Downtown did this module. It is a most excellent module. In fact, it may be easier to plan missions using the module than the actual game!

Joel, are you the one who did the EV VASSAL set? I've grabbed it but haven't had a chance to tinker with it. How much did you pull from the latest iteration of the Downtown set? That module really did a great job of minimizing paperwork outside the module and made it a wiz to play via email; unlike the half finished Burning Blue one ;-)
