First Scenario - May 4th, Attack on the Sheffield 4 Replies

I'm just going to go through the war chronologically, analyze each battle, and develop rules for each scenario as they come up. The first is the Exocet attack on the Sheffield. Analysis: Over open…

Rule Changes 4 Replies

There will need to be some modification to the standard DT/EV rules to reflect the situation in the Falklands. Here are the first that come to mind. 1. SAM acquisition needs to occur during movement…

There was an old Spanish Civil War module for ASL which did include chapalians too!

Argentinian "Flash" unpredictability works like this--anytime the Brits and the Argies roll the same dice roll for Initiative, the Argies "flash" for that turn. Which means they get to roll another die for their attacks and pick the best one. Keeps the Brits from getting too froggy, as they roll eight-sided die rather than six-sided die for their ranged attacks (marksmanship), even thought they are often a firepower point less than their Argie opponents. Brits have rules for Resiliency (when shaken, there's a chance they can rally before melee) and when in good order are really deadly in melee (especially the Gurkhas). One cool thing is that the Argentinians get chaplains! Not too many games feature that!

Can you give more details about the Argentinian "Flash" unpredictability?

Just got my copy of the Lock 'N Load BAND OF HEROES module for the Falklands War, RING OF HILLS. Gorgeous package as is standard for this company. Anybody else get one? Anyone else give it a spin? I want to but won't have time for a while. Some of the rules unique to the module look quite interesting--particularly Brit marksmanship and Argentinian "Flash" unpredictability!

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty
