This is one game I can't stop thinking about. It demanded to be put on the table. I love the RPG like elements of the set up and assignment of units and equipment.
Mission 2 has me set up in a Night Defensive Position. It looks like a tough one terrain wise. My Top and Top Left are open rice paddies as is my Center position. (In my mind where in such bad terrain because where protecting a chopper with a mechanical failure) A small hill rises up on my left also cover 0 open terrain. So I shortened my lines and put claymores in the Top and Top Left paddies and on the hill. Turn 1 begins with a mortar tube opening opening up from on the hill, the rounds miss and only 1 step is paralyzed. On the other side of the perimeter we have some serious mortar fire coming in but everyone hunkers down in there holes and there is no effect. We fire off the claymores on the hill and listen but the mortar team is intact, we can still here them making noise and turn 2 begins with another thunk of rounds out of the tube. All is quiet on the other side of the perimeter no further fire missions from that Mortar FO yet. .

Still playing this mission currently on turn 7. I usually only have an hour or less a night to play. This is a real determined VC attack. The firefight really started heating up on turn 3. One of 2nd Platoons machine guns was made a causality and the 60mm Mortar was paralyzed. We fought back paralyzing a machine gun team and RPG team. It was tit for tat for a while till the 2nd Platoon HQ was lost on turn 6. Top is supporting that side of the perimeter and has taken control of 2nd platoon. They are fighting off the units that killed their leader, it is close quarters right now with grenades arcing back and forth 2 other cards are also jointly occupied but US units should prevail in those. Hopefully in time to deal with the next wave!
