If you are going to be doing a marathon gaming session over the course of a Saturday, how good an idea is it to take a break for a real meal at a suitable time as opposed to subsisting the entire day on snackier fare?
Recently I was fortunate enough to be in a Napoleonic Wars game that was interrupted after the first full turn (which is composed of numerous impulses by the various powers) by the presentation of two fresh-baked pizzas that did wonders for our morale.
What sort of real meal works best, especially if some of the normal dining space is being used for gaming purposes?
At our all day gaming at my house, we have found things like soups, stews, casseroles, etc. that are precooked and can be easily warmed up are (time-wise) best.
Not sure what I would recommend if eating at the gaming table itself. I have done that at other venues, but it just seems at best, messy and at worst, disastrous.
Ideally there should be someplace away from the table where people can eat without disturbing the setup on the table. The problem I have is how you play in a small apartment.
