As a feedback, I ordered Dead of Winter some two weeks ago.  Eagerly awaiting for its arrival, and trembling with fear of the customs taxation.

Steve, I took the opportunity and ordered Glory III along with DoW :)

I will have to wait untill the games arrive, Priority Mail International 6-10 days, maybe at the U.S. it takes around 6 - 10 weeks to arrive here, due to customs, etc...

Maybe I'll start with Wilson's Creek, to get my feet wet.

Until then I'll be playing Space Empires 4X :)

Some of you guys might be interested in reading some GMT 3 Days of Gettysburg action which I blogged in 2010 on my home page. Extensive replay which I used tape recorder to document as Mike and I banged away with each other in Day 1 of that great battle. Worth reading to get feel of the immensity that that monster game is. AM selections, artillery, rifle fire, shock and disaster. It is all there.

If you enjoy the regimental scale games GBACW is the way to no matter era.

To get use to the series it self, all of the S&T games you've mentioned are good learning games for the new GMT series and will help.

Due to thier sequence of play methods, movement/fire/rally, command and control.

Which is why it would not be hard to adopt the to newer games.

Well, just ordered GMTs Dead of Winter, AND, thanks to Robert, GMTs Glory III, it is at a special price at the Wargamedepot, so I couldn't resist :)

Good point!

And the GMT games have VASSAL modules for them, this is a decision factor for me, as ACW is not very popular here in my group.

I am surprised that Gringo is OOP. Sure is.

I'll look into the glory series, too.

Thanks for the pointer.
