Well, I guess we have to talk about something else besides the usual topics in the Consim folder. How's this - what's the wildest, craziest thing that has ever happened to you in a GCACW game?

The greatest moment in GCACW is not up for debate:

WBC, three years ago - the Long Roads to Gettysburg campaign game.

Ewell's corp breaks away from the AoNVa advance through Harper's Ferry, turns back south, and is consequently cut to shreds by three Union corps in the mountains along the south bank of the Potomac.

Reports of Gen. Ewell's day-long assault on a case of beer prior to his blunder have NOT been exagerated.
I always remember the game of Lee vs. Pope I played at WBC years ago against Forrest Speck. He cut Sigel's corps off from the rest of my army and went after me with Jackson. Instead of turning and running, I waited until he got in range and attacked. Got some flank bonuses and some good combat rolls and Sigel actually cut Jackson to shreds! Great fun.
I think historically the Union army turned and ran alot before Grant came along. :-)
Although I don't remember the details (it was a HCTR 4 players game played about in the game published year), this is what happened:
An incredible Army assault by the Union army, where all activation rolls went right and the Union (that's me and my buddy) smashed a couple of Conf divisions, by being able to almost surround and destroy them. However, unfortunately the collateral effect, of that epochal event, was that my adversaries blamed the game system, for their clamorous defeat and refused to play it again.
