Well then I'd say post a message in the GCACW folder on the Consimworld discussion site asking for an opponent and get rolling!

I did use the tutorial when I was trying to learn the game a few years ago but nothing like a real game to have the rules sink in a bit.

Have you worked your way through the tutorial here?

Although I have all the games in the series,I have never had the time to do much with them.  I figure it is time to learn though.  I have been using Vassal with Skype for other wargames and hope I can contnue with one from this series.  Which game would be best to start off with?

Anyone interested in a game of "Here Come the Rebels" on Vassal? I also recently got "Grant Takes Command" but have not played it yet.

Haven't seen much posted here for a while. I'm looking for opponents who would like to play Battle Above the Clouds or Stonewall's Last Battle on Vassal. I can do live play or PBEM. One of the advantages of being retired with time on my hands.

...to his credit I should have sought permission before I made my post. Even more to his credit he's just toying with me, soon I'm in for it and I know it but I thought I'd bragg (pardon the pun) while I could.

As the unfortunate Reb commander in the game Joey is discussing, let me say that the reports of Forrest's command being hors de combat are true but exaggerated in their impact. A couple of days back on our side of the Tennessee River and those boys will be in fine fettle again, and any Yankees who follow us had best bring their forgage caps along...

In the south, it's true that McCook has made excellent time towards the off map Rome box and Summerville.. However, there is a little matter of wagon trains to consider, as Joe Wheeler sits north of the Union columns, licking his chops and twitching his tail like big cat awaiting the moment to pounce.

Now, if Jeff Davis will just have the good sense to get Longstreet coming to our aid, we can yet save southern Tennessee for the Confederacy!

Joey, this analysis before you talked about the first few turns is AWESOME!
