Wow. Looks like I scared everyone off...

Does anyone know of a way to adjust the thickness of a river to vary it? Is this more of a wishlist item to have spline node thickness variation? Another wishlist item would be the ability to clock textures by 60 degree increments. Other then that I'm loving the tool.

Thanks Jo!

I researched about mono to create a mac version.

Java would do! :-)

Jo,

I have one recurring bug. After saving a map and then loading it back in, my roads and rivers loose their texture settings. Thicknesses and locations are fine. This is with full version 1.1.

Thanks.

Hello Jim,

thanks for your buy.
I hope I could do the 1.2 version in the next months.
I researched about mono to create a mac version.
At now sadly not possible because of some missing functions in mono.

Jo,

Just bought the software. Looking forward to making some artwork for it and then knocking out some playtest maps for WaW TUS. Your software should greatly speed up my map making process. I hope down the road you can add more then one Overlay, Underlay and Top layer to the system with the ability to toggle an alpha blended drop shadow (setting the color/size) to really add a 3d "pop" to those elements. Also a gradient hex edge or road line for better blending would also be cool.

Thanks again for a great tool!!

Jo,

Thanks for the answers. Any plans to add a drop shadow option? It would be nice to have roads/rivers with depth or have houses, trees, etc with a directional shadow after random placement again to add a depth effect. Thanks for the tool. Looks Like I'll be breaking the bank open to get this later today. Also when is 1.2 going to be ready?

Hello Jim,

to your questions:

1. yes, this could be done with a library. Any map is a library. You will find a bit more in the manual how to name and where to store your library file.
2. try starting numbers with values -1 in the hexgrid dialog. The starting position could only be moved by cutting the exported image.
3. this could be done with the top-layers.

You can try all this, beside of cutting the export, with the demo.

cheers

I'm looking to buy the software to help make playtest maps for a game system, but I have a couple questions that I can't seem to answer with the demo.
1. Can map templates be made? Most of the maps I will be doing will be based on 11"x17" boarderless maps using 5/8 or 3/4 hexs and geomorphic to boot. SO anything I can do to get a fixed and working baseline would be helpful.
2. How do you tweaking the starting location of the hexes with respect to the edge. Again to setup geomorphic layouts.
3. Is there a layer to place objects like turn tracks or a Map number, north arrow etc?

Thanks.

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.

I'd love to see more open source work, but I'm especially thinking of computer games. That would allow not just designers, but the developers, to look "under the hood" to see what makes a good game work. Even if that education is taken to commercial…

Stephen, I love all these game systems too. I will say I think OCS is the "holy grail" of operational-level simulation--with the stipulation that I rarely have time/space to play even one of the more simple titles (e.g., KOREA: THE FORGOTTEN WAR or…
