-Below is material subject to modification.

The below graphic links will be added as I get to their new pages ( it came to my attention that I had dropped the html files from where I had had them hosted before). I'll spruce up the graphics a little as things go along ( these, at the moment have been reused from the website with some corresponding background material that needs to go).

-Working on the Naval Campaigns page at the site - but since I had the banner ready- figured to add it in here (and then edit in the link later on.)._______________________

AI Script authoring contest being held at SDC.

The AI Strikes Back!

We would like as many people as possible to try their hand at writing AI scripts for the JTS/HPS pre-WWI games.

To encourage this, JTS (or HPS) will award one of their downloadable titles (on a lottery basis) to one new AI script for a historical scenario turned in from now until the end of July 2013.

The game will be awarded based on the Dow Jones numbers for August 1, 2013, (using the last numbers as a random number calculator).

To encourage the use of the random script feature in the software, a scenario that offers 5 different scripts for the AI to chose from, will count as 5 scripts turned in. Send your new scenario (remember it must be historic, not a what-if) to me at gcbisset@gmail.com to be checked and numbered for the drawing.

We especially encourage scenarios that add AI to previous historic scenarios that were released without AI scripts , or that perhaps did not have a very interesting script.

Label your new scenarios as follows: Game Title (omit "campaign"" ), Scenario Name, Historic Solo,Random (if more than 1 script), Your Name as in the following example: Peninsula 7 Pines Historic Solo Random George Bisset Include a brief description of how many scripts and any other necessary info in your email.

Visit my website, http://gbisset.bravesites.com , for suggestions of how to make interesting AI scripts.

I also invite any suggestions you have to do the same, and I can add those to the site. All scenarios will be checked to see that the scripts function, and are different from those already existing for that scenario. The scripts will then be uploaded to the SDC lists for everyone to enjoy.

If you've never done a script, try one. I just did one for 7 Pines in one hour that kept me playing for a week!

Although I don't have a logo for it yet, I wanted to take a second to share a new AAR section that is being developed for the site.

Previously SDC did have an AAR section, but the images it was using were hosted elsewhere, and basically all eventually disappeared. All of which amounts to a lesson in hosting material, that being - never leave it to chance.

hist-sdc-aars.blogspot.com

Currently I am building some content, and am personally not writing full-blown AARs, but rather am focusing on having a look at the first turn from a variety of titles. As of this writing I have done these 'mini-AAR's' for the Marne scenario from France '14, and the Tel el Eisa scenario from El Alamein '42.

-Next up will be the Gravelines b scenario from The Renaissance.

Plus I have a lot of older material that needs to be reworked, and will be added on a longer term basis.

If interested in sharing an AAR, please drop me a line.

Since beginning work on the site in 2009, I have gotten progressively more attached to working in the graphics design end of web site development. And with that in mind, I decided to expand my work to some larger mediums, and open a CafePress Store: Scenario Design Center Warehouse

The items shown, are by no means the limit to what I intend to place up there; plus I also plan on getting a couple of items to photograph them myself, because as I understand the situation, CafePress changes images submitted to them to jpgs for their website use, and I am generally working and posting there in lossless png mode.

Also with that in mind, I am going to be launching a new blog (and also featuring it on the SDC site) to compliment the new store where design methods, and concepts are discussed. Basically the idea is to add additional depth to what I have posted there. I am really looking forward to being able to feature some unique creations as well ( such as the Bardia design -which I basically expanded from a banner I created for a future historical article at the SDC site.

That's it for now, and happy gaming. :)

I added an Early American Wars page to the group, as those pages have now all been updated to the newer format on the site page.

I added a Civil War Battles page to the group, and noticed that for some odd reason I had had 'Allow Comments' unticked - I fixed that for all pages here).

I think I might take on EAW next (but it may be PzC instead - as that is the big series left ... I guess it depends on if I want to complete series quicker now or get the big one out of the way. :)

HPS Simulations has a title coming out on Friday 6th April 2012, called 'The Drift 1879: The Battle of Rorke's Drift'.

I'm currently working on a page for SDC with the enclosed screenshots provided by HPS -it should be available shortly.

Working on some things (still taking priority over site matters) -but I am not, in fact, dead... :)  -I recently installed Joomla to a test area, and I believe that it will serve the needs of a future resumption of the AAR area better than a blog.

I've also decided to no longer contribute material to VGG; however I will add that all images used on all sites I work on are expressedly copyrighted (in the case of many cases jointly by HPS and/or JTS, and in some cases, I hold it myself).

I suppose I should also add, that in a way it is all good- as I got an AAR of Sacile that never made it to the old blog -and that one I plan on making the initial AAR here. I believe it was a match between Einar Masson and Mark Nelms (both experienced players).

SDC dropped its AAR blog; it will eventually be restored at another location using a blog (it is there -but nothing posted). long story- but as a general rule it is best to host images on site.  Anyways- stay tuned; although atm I am engaged in working on HPS's Ancient Warfare series material.
