Hello -

My name is Mike and I'm a newbie to ASL and I live in Kansas City. I found your group link from consimworld and thought I would drop by and join. I recently purchased the ASL Starter Kit #1 and am currently reading through the rules and plan on working through the excellent tutorial over on boardgamegeek.com.

I remember back in the 1980's, my best friend, Rich, pulled out a game called "Squad Leader" - we tried a game, but I just wasn't "into it." But, I have always loved WWII history and movies. Recently, I discovered ASL and read about it. I had one of those "V-8" moments, where  you hit your head and say, "what the heck have I been missing?" This game looks awesome! Sorry, Rich. If I ever locate you after all these years, I'm going to make up for it with VASL.

So, I plan on coming to the Spring Recruits convention in Lee's Summit. Hope to meet some ASL veterans that can help me learn the game. It looks fascinating.
