To be honest with you I have never attended Spring Recruits. I gather that it is a large miniature convention but I also know that there are open tables for gaming. Combat Commander anyone?
And whether you play minis or not, the operation MarketGarden recreation on a 30 ft. table was something to see (At Spring Maneuvers) a couple of weekends ago.

Wow, that time of year again? I always lose track of these things.... I'm hoping to get a day, or even a part of a day at March Madness this weekend, but if I don't I might shoot for Spring Recruits (I've yet to go to either event). I gather, though, that Spring Recruits is largely minis? I'm more a board and computer wargamer, but wouldn't mind wandering around a mostly minis con.

Anyone going to Spring Recruits in Lees Summit on the weekend of March 26th?

Won't make it myself, drat the luck--two+ week work trip overseas, not returning home until seven hours into the start of the con (and 21 some hours after leaving my location, I expect I'd have trouble with tic-tac-toe!).

Are exiled former regional people allowed? I offer my tenure as first tourney director for the ASL KC preview to March Madness!

Also, I am a big fan of Phil from Thompson Productions in Warrensburg. I've bought a boatload of stuff from him at conventions here in Minnesota.

Greetings. I have roots in the KC area. I lived in Gladstone 1968-70 and just north of Leavenworth from 1970-76, and went to Kansas University from 1976-81. Sadly, I haven't lived in the KC area since then but get back there frequently to visit family and friends. I'd love to attend Recruits or gaming at Ft. Leavenworth sometime.

We had a successful March Madness ASL tourny last weekend, thanks to all the locals and not so locals who attended.

The next big event is Recruits at Lees Summit HS 28-30 March.
