Just to let you know, I'm working on Issue 75 of Line of Departure, with an expected release of next week. Since this is a milestone, I've decided to make it a theme issue: Americans at War II. The original Americans at War issue was number 39, back in 2001.
The emphasis on the United States is actually consistent with standard practice. Generally, any issue of Line of Departure will have at least one feature that focuses on Americans or their country in some way. There are exceptions, as in Issue 70, which had World War II on the Eastern Front as its theme. It's hard to squeeze the United States into that. The same would apply for an issue that addressed ancient warfare.
I'm still selecting the articles now, as I actually have a little extra on hand, for the first time in a while. Certainly, there will be my review of Rebel Raiders on the High Seas (GMT), and a major analysis of the original Squad Leader series, through G.I.: Anvil of Victory (Avalon Hill). After that, I'm putting the pieces in the jigsaw puzzle to make the issue. Most probably, there will be scenarios either for MBT (Avalon Hill) or, more probably, for the original Red Star/White Star (SPI). Whatever doesn't make it into the pages of Issue 75 will show up subsequently.
I'll let you know about the final article mix as the magazine approaches completion.
