Ahead of schedule as well as in existence, I am pleased to announce the launch of Line of Departure Online Features. This continues the work started in 1999 with Line of Depature@The Gamers Net, and continued through Line of Departure/The Wargamer.

The projects on Line of Departure Online Features include a wide variety of articles, covering everything from real time strategy computer games to naval history and counterterrorist strategy. In addition, most of the scenarios and player's aids published on the other sites are back, sometimes benefiting from fresh proofreading, removal of broken links, and always with an updated layout.

Finally, Line of Departure Online Features marks the return of Paul Rohrbaugh's fine DTP boardgame A Master Stroke. All a player has to do is download it, for free.

As in the past, I intend to keep this as an essential part of the greater Line of Departure. Therefore there will be new material uploaded, and the site updated, on a regular basis.

No problem. I've always intended the free web site, regardless of the venue, as essential, and tried to upload the equivalent at least one issue per year. Plus, there are games that I like but aren't the most popular among the print edition's readers, such as RTS computer games, so it's better to support them online than in print.

For this project, I just sat down for about three days with Microsoft Frontpage and the old web pages, and got to work. Hopefully it will go over well.
There is some more work that I know that I'll be putting up. Right before Line of Departure/The Wargamer went down, my friend Gary Greenhalgh sent more some more Command at Sea data sheets. I've been holding onto them for the last six months, with no place to publish them. Now I do.
