So, who is more to blame for the ongoing mess, most recently manifested in Alex Rodriguez's admission that he was juiced? Is Major League Baseball, which scored record interest, attendance and profits when its top sluggers were on the needle, and sending balls into the stratosphere? Or is the the players' union, which went to the wall to protect athletes who committed daily crimes against fair competition, and their own bodies, thanks to the gifts of modern chemistry?
Or could it be both? Or neither, with the malefactors being a few misguided individuals, instead of business institutions?
One take comes from the blog of Ted Robinson, under the heading of MLB Taking Some Hard Hits.
I blame them both.
