lol they could not be farther apart-but i appreciate the effort! d-day was one of the first historical wargames 1961.

Is AH D-Day the same as AH The Longest Day? The maps look similar and I have The Longest day as a PDF

now chuck if you want to try this pbem thing as pbm we could do it as early as this weekend(fri) but it is going to be a while before i wrap my head around vassal-for the time being i'm having a vassalectomy! (no vassal!) lol

chuck yes i would-let things slow down in my life a little and maybe you can convert me to vassal-i still like my idea. panzerhunter-that is exactly what the idea is-well have to arrange a panzerblitz game sometime.roger, as soon as i get some spi games we can give it a go. thanks guys!

I have never done PBM or PBEM but I am willing to give it a go.

I like vassal so so.. for one thing I like to set up the board and move the counters. vassal turns Panzerblitz into just another video game. Vassal does not have all the scenarios loaded.. at least it didn't when I was using it. Sometimes the interface is frustrating. I have made moves and they didn't take.
I do enjoy sitting down with the actual board in front of me and making a turn pushing the counters around drinking some coffee. I like to get away from the computer every once and a while and playing a wargame like the old days appeals to me. . I guess it's the old school in me. I like to log my turns on a piece of paper and then write them up in an email... I have played many games like this and it is do-able. Sometimes I take my camera and make a pic of the board for my opponent. I am not always able to devote all the time required to sit down and play straight thru. I like getting the turn and updating the board when I get a chance and then doing my turn and sending it again when time allows. It's a much easier way to commit and not commit so to speak.

this group is started as a solution to my (admittedly)inability to handle vassal etc. the idea is simply-play games by email using to old pbmail system and a dice server. also, possibly to incorporate skype camera to camera to aid play. i'm open to suggestions. i usually have to lay out the actual game anyway so i hope to find a solution(and players!)
