Jim Thomas dropped by my place yesterday for a 3 player game of Triumph and Tragedy (Jim, my son Peter who was visiting and myself). What a blast! Thought I had in the bag as Axis until evil Peter, er - Joe Stalin unleashed his enhanced fighters on me and destroyed the Luftwaffe in eastern Poland! We were not able to play to completion but in opinion of Peter and myself, we effectively threw the game to Jim as the West, who was willing to let us beat our skulls together while he mustered the forces of his American ally and prepared to roll across the Rhine. A good time was had by all.
So, what is going on the EWR?
Mostly it has been Bill, Stuart and Vernon this past year and currently - we played the heck out of Last Blitzkrieg - a game to end all games that title. We went through 3 Campaigns.
Some OCS took place; small stuff.
Currently, Vernon has talked us into TCS - so we are now midway through the Big Scenario of Manatinkau and I am solitaire mode with Bloody Ridge.
I found an an affinity to TCS so strong that I spent the last week of 2016 negotiating trades to get all the titles - many now duplicated.
We game about twice a month, sometimes more, often less.
Get well and sorry for not replying sooner. I rarely hang out here anymore.
Will try what you like.
OMG! I did not hear anything about this. All my thoughts are with you are you race to a speedy recovery.
Best wishes for a quick and complete recovery Dave. Happy to crack out the Triumph and Tragedy with you whenever you feel well enough to go at it. Look forward to meeting you soon.
I had not heard specifically. My thoughts are with you and I am really glad for your recovery so far.
When you are up to it, would be glad to get together for game of choice.
And, I would love to try Triumph and Tragedy - maybe at the game day?
Just to update you:
If you haven't heard, not sure who has heard and who hasn't, this fall I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer, and am currently undergoing radiation treatments in Chapel Hill. Progress has been good and all signs are pointing toward a cure, although the side effects have sucked.
Anyway, treatments will be over near the end of the month, and I hope we can have a big game day get together to celebrate at my place - but that is a long way off yet.
ASL team tournament in Kernersville April 6th - 9th. All skill levels. Call me at 336-462-4035. Some info found at www.ritterkrieg.com
Got your email message on Tuesday and responded same day. Sent another email to you Friday asking for address for your place on Saturday but never heard back after your Tuesday message. Sorry if there has been a miscommunication.
