So what's everyone up to these days? I'm working on a massive set of boards for Battle Axe at the Panzer Leader scale to use with a prototype vassal module for Panzer 44 2.0
LOL I'm board not being able to game so I created a twitter account to taunt the programmers at Deep Mind and challenging them to a match over a wargaming board! Of course they won't accept it, but it's fun at least!
NP! No gaming at the moment but doing a great deal of Vassal module work. SPI older games, working on Operation Typhoon at the moment.
Hi Chuck,
Two things - 1) Chickamauga is a great visit - the park itself is pristine - it got protected early (one of the first national battlefields), and 2) thanks for breaking what looked to be a 10 month drought of commentary!
I went to Chickamauga Battlefield over the weekend. A very nice site, I would go if you get a chance, even in the rain it was fantastic!
I saw this game last week at ConsimExpo and found it rather interesting also. Lot's of actions via cards.
Last week I finally got around to playing Enemy Action: Ardennes. Randy Sands and I met at Atomic Empire in Durham and managed to get through the 2Player Dec. 16th scenario. It took us about 4 hours as there was a lot of rule book consulting.
My initial reaction would be this is a very interesting system. I look forward to getting more into this one. As the game has been out for almost two years I am surely way behind the curve on EAA. Any of you have comments on EAA?
Old School request. I am interested in playing the old AH Bulge '65 game. Anybody crazy enough to try this at some point? This was my all-time favorite wargame for many years until I got hooked on SL/ASL.
I got together with Jim a couple of weeks ago but painting my kitchen has eaten up my current gaming time allotment. We played Clash of Giants but did not finish. Simple system. Ray
Jim Thomas dropped by my place yesterday for a 3 player game of Triumph and Tragedy (Jim, my son Peter who was visiting and myself). What a blast! Thought I had in the bag as Axis until evil Peter, er - Joe Stalin unleashed his enhanced fighters on me and destroyed the Luftwaffe in eastern Poland! We were not able to play to completion but in opinion of Peter and myself, we effectively threw the game to Jim as the West, who was willing to let us beat our skulls together while he mustered the forces of his American ally and prepared to roll across the Rhine. A good time was had by all.
