Board wargaming in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Triangle area wargaming :)

I'm going to try to get certain running organizational tasks in their own discussions, so people can discuss what to play at certain linkups there, and save this area for bigger announcements.

For now, I'm just happy we've all got one place to try and organize a few games!

Set up on Friday morning will take an hour or two, so start some time early afternoon. On Saturday, start as soon as the store opens.

I have plans Friday night. What time are you starting each morning?

YES!!!  I am in the process of learning LB.  I've read the rules and have watched a couple of the videos, so this is very timely for me.

I hope to get a vassal game going with a buddy from Texas sometime next week.

Sent a message to all members but wanted to post here as well. Rod Miller and I (Don Evans) are planning a 2-day session of the BCS Bulge game Last Blitzkrieg at The Gamers Armory Oct. 7-8. All are welcome to stop by and run a few formations or learn this amazing game system.

For anyone still looking for something for the kids to do next week - we've got spots available in the day camp for them!

My son is interested in playing Churchill some time, but he has a commitment on that day, snow willing. If it turns bad weather we'd be interested in making it around Durham (as his prior commitment in Raleigh would be cancelled.) I'm here either way.

Anyone free this Saturday, Jan. 23?  I am off and my wife is working.  I could be at Gamer's Armory at 10AM sharp to play ... well, anything.  It couldn't be something that we would need to stay until closing time for, but I'd definitely have at least 6 hours.  I could bring and teach Wing Leader, Ici c'est La France, or maybe someone wants to play Twilight Struggle - anything, really.

Sounds great! I'll definitely send an email. I own Cuba Libre (also in the COIN series), Twilight Struggle, Labyrinth, and a couple of other hex games, so I'd be happy to bring mine to the table too.

Hey, Jeremy.  Wray Ferrell recently started a mailing list called Triangle Meaty Gamers to coordinate the playing of "heavier" games like The US Civil War, Paths of Glory, Triumph & Tragedy, etc.  For example, four of us on the mailing list are getting together at the Gamer's Armory to play Fire in the Lake on January 30th.

If you want, email me at jamey.cribbs@gmail.com and I will add you to the mailing list.

BTW, this offer goes out to anyone in this group.  If you would like to get on the mailing list, just email me.

Hello All,

Just got into this hobby and I'm excited at the prospect of getting to know other players in the area, and possibly sitting down to play a game! I've seen some discussion of the recent GMT U.S. Civil War game, and that definitely looks like one I would be interested to play.
