Board wargaming in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill

Hey everyone!

Welcome to Triangle area wargaming :)

I'm going to try to get certain running organizational tasks in their own discussions, so people can discuss what to play at certain linkups there, and save this area for bigger announcements.

For now, I'm just happy we've all got one place to try and organize a few games!

Right, I think they open at the normal 10am this Saturday.

Jamey, I should be good for Saturday.  It's the day after New Year's Day.  Are they on a regular Saturday schedule that day?  Says they open at 10AM normally.

Hey, Bruce.  I will be up at the Armory on Thursday, but I'm already committed to playing something else.

How does your Saturday look for playing The US Civil War up at the Armory?  I can start as soon as the store opens.

Hey Jamey-

I don't own U.S. Civil War but have heard good things about it.  I've downloaded the rules.  I'd love to give it a short at Gamer's Armory at your convenience.

Also, for anyone out there, Henry and I were hoping to give Churchill a play on Thursday (at Gamer's Armory).  Anyone up for being a third player?

-Bruce

I have recently become addicted to GMT's The US Civil War.  If anyone is interested in playing it this week, say up at the Gamer's Armory, let me know.  I have played a short scenario a couple of times and am involved in two vassal campaign games right now, so I have a fair grasp of the rules, so we can even do a learning game if anyone is interested.  It is a great game.

Keith: I emailed you using this board's email. Please check your inbox here.

Don: Yep, same place. I was going to email you, too, but it seems we're not friends here so I can't email you here and I can't find your address from previous exchanges. Please email me at Dick (at) Vohlers.com so we can talk offline.

Thanks,

Dick

My wife is out of town this Thursday, so yes I'd like to come. You still off N. Harrison Avenue?

Comment by Keith on December 14, 2015 at 11:06am

I'm definitely interested.  The back catalog at my place is shameful, so finding some folks who actually want to play these games would be a huge boon.

Indomitable? You realize that I lost that TGD scenario we wrapped up when you were here last week?

Henry, La Bat is one of the series that Bryan has expressed an interest in playing. We can discuss that more when we meet this week.

Don, you know you're always welcome to join us.

Actually, anyone on this list is welcome, too. We meet every Thursday night from 6 to 9 at my place in north Cary. This week Henry will be teaching us Fire in the Lake but then we'll be off the next two weeks for the holidays. We'll resume with a new game in the new year.

We may also meet at my place during one day of the week between Christmas and New Years.

Please post here or email if you're interested.

Keith:  I definitely would like to get together sometime during the holidays and get some gaming in.  My schedule is pretty flexible.  Please shoot me an email at hcoates2(at)gmail.com.

Bruce:  It is so neat that you saw my message, what a small world.  It really was your passion on the episodes on ASL and Historical Accuracy in gaming that pushed me over the edge to finally enter into a hobby I've always admired at a distance.  If you are ever down to game post Christmas, please shoot me at email at hcoates2(at)gmail.com.  It would be a real pleasure.

Don:  I'm down for anything come the New Year. I'm a quick learn. Shoot me an email some time at hcoates2(at)gmail.com and let us see if we can work something out.  That would be great, always wanted to play one of those "monster" games!
