Mike - I'd love to walk you through VASSAL if you would like and show you all the neat tricks. I too was tired of not playing my games and VASSAL (along with SKYPE as a verbal communication device) has been a real joy to solving that issue. With VASSAL its like playing face to face and in a few respects even better. Contact me on Skype if you like at jfs98465

Yes, Mike, you can join a game as observer. I'l be playing HotS with Doug Johnson tomorrow evening in a learning game (for him). We'll start just after 6pm PST, 9pm EST. You are welcome to observe. We'll also be doing our voice connection via Skype. My user ID is yankeeap. Send me an invite and we'll plug you in.

Same for anyone else interested.

I'm getting a few interested gamers together who want to play block games in real-time via Vassal and Skype, with regular scheduling in a sort of conference-divisional structure (probably aligned around time zones). If you think you'd be interested in participating in a Block Game Vassal League, give me a shout.

Its great and pretty easy once you get the hang of it. If you need any help let me know. What are you playing?

I'm in Olympia, WA and just begining to look at Vassal. Started gaming in 1969 at Kansas State. Off and on since then. Used ADC2 for a long time so this is very intriguing. Hope to get up to speed very soon.

This group is to help introduce players to wargames, using VASSAL to replay games. Some are instructional, some are just samples of gameplay.

Simply download the log file, load it in vassal and step through various tutorials of games

If you have any log files to share, please email them to and let me know what game it is.

You will need to install vassal Look under quickstart

Download the module of the game you want to learn (or teach)

Then go to the file section here and download the log of the game you want to learn
