Manteuffel and WinSPWW2 hero Cross have both released nice mods for our good ole WinSPWW2!

Cross's infantry mod id not exactly new but he has packaged it up as a 1.0 release in the Shrapnel mods section.

Manteuffel has produced some really nice eye candy with new intro/prefs graphics with his Intro Pictures mod.

Not particular for WinSPWW2...but for WinSPMBT (but fully compatible with WinSPWW2) is a mod released by Rosollia called "Shrapnely explosions mod" which mods the explosion, smoke dispenser and tracer graphics.  It is based on an earlier mod by Lahtinen.

Last but not least, Cross has updated his outstanding sound mod to 2.0! (a must have IMO)

Note: Mantueffel is also working on a a new flags mod which you can download a version of now...but he has promised an update.

Look for these mods in the WinSPWW2 mod forum here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=248

(and the WinSPMBT here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=249 )

Does this game work on windows 7 yet?

I am running it just fine on my Windows 7 x64 laptop.  It now supports wide screens and has a startup script that checks if you are running vista or newer to avoid the graphic/color corruption that used to appear.

Can you send me a download link please?

http://www.shrapnelgames.com/Camo_Workshop/WW2/WW2_page.html

Its on the right hand side of the page in the middle....

Read the instructions as you have to download the main installer and *all* the patches and then install them in order...kind of a pain and it is about time for them to come out with a new base install package :(

Thanks so much.  I have played Steel Panthers for years but stopped after the switch to Win7.

No problem,  I hope you enjoy it!   (if your not already you should join the Blitzkrieg wargaming club and join the WinSPWW2 ladder there...a great bunch of friendly gamers...:  http://www.theblitz.org/ )

Good to know.

If/when I install a Win7 vm under Virtualbox I'll try it.

Have SP (normal, I think) running fine under wine.
