One of two revised maps for Bombs Away, based on the latest set of charts Shawn has sent me. Work is progressing nicely. B-17 Map for Bombs Away

Here's an update to the charts published previously. Still not complete...but gives you an idea of the direction we are heading. Map is currenlty being redesigned.

If their is one Game, i have been waiting over a decade for to be remade, this is it. Im currently doing a Squadron Solo using most of the available 'player' mods. However to have 'everything' in one game would be a great plus, well not a great plus an excellent one :)

The Target selection below looks really great and first look, seems to have every target that the 8th bombed.

Oh well back too my 165th Squadron, Blue skies and natural sixes

Been awhile since any updates so here's one. A look at how we are approaching the game. Click the link to view the target selection list: BOMBS%20AWAY%20TABLS.docx. NOTE: This is a rough draft and subject to change! I guess you could call it a bone!

Glad to see that B-17 is being updated.  The game is one of my favorites and I look forward to seeing the new and improved version.

For those who may be attending the gaming Expo in June, Legion Wargames will have some preliminary graphics, cards, and sample charts of Bombs Away available for preview. So be sure to stop by their booth!

Optional Rules and charts for specific fighter damage and personnel wounds are complete. Rather than a generic "fighter shot down" you can now find out why! And for crew members, if a man suffers a wound or is KIA, you can now determine the location of the hit. Just adds more "flavor" to the game.

And astute observers will note in the graphic in the previous post that counters for primary and secondary targets are included. Yes, secondary targets will be possible!

You can check out sample graphics that will be used when we begin playtesting in either the Spring or Summer of 2012. A call for playtesters will go out in January 2012.

For those conducting squadron missions via the web or face to face, and serving as either game master or web coordinator, several player aids will be included in the game to help administer your games. Expanding to group missions for those so inclined will be possible.

Mike - something along those lines will be included as an optional rule. In fact, in the regular game, 4 groups are represented - 2 B-17 and 2 B-24. Here's an example below. This is placed on the board and is surrounded by the clock positions.
