Good answer.  I'm glad to hear it.

Jeff,

Dialed back. That will be changed. However, fighter encounters will still be greater than B-29 due to the nature of the combat theater but less than the current B-17QOTS. Our goal is to increase survivability over 25/35 missions yet still keep the excitement of combating German attacks.

Steve, I think you misunderstood my question.  What I meant to ask was whether Bombs Away missions will have the same magnitude of onslaught of fighters vs bombers at B-17, or will the combat frequency be "dialed back" at bit more toward what was seen in B-29?  As I recall, Bruce Shelley stated that the combat in B-17 QoTS was intentionally exaggerated vs. reality to make the game/campaign more exciting.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Playtest counters are being worked on. When a few become available I'll post a few samples. FYI a forum has also been started at Consimworld.

Ben - we are past the halfway point in pre-sales with Picket Duty. Still sometime to go before we hit 250!

Jeff,

Yes - the number will rise from three to 10 plus variants of some of the fighters.

Steve, do you anticipate any changes to the number of German fighter encounters per mission, as compared to B-17 QOTS?

Can't wait for this one and Picket Duty, Steve.

Hello all!

Here's a list of some items to be in the game...

1. Both the B-17 and B-24 will be represented. A player can fly either with the 8th or 15th Air Force, or both if one is so inclined, from August 1942 to the end of the war.

2. The role playing aspect will be expanded a bit, to include more detail when it comes to injuries.

3. The following German planes will be represented: Bf-109, Bf-110, Ju-88, Me-210, Me-410, Me-163, Me-262, He-162 (what if), Ta-152, and Fw-190.

4. The German fighters will be represented by cards and not counters. The attack tables for each fighter will be on the card. (A sample can be seen below - all values are placeholders)

5. It will be a solitaire game.

6. The target lists for both 8th and 15th Air Force have been greatly expanded. In fact it's as complete as one can get, listing all primary targets we could find and known to be hit during the war. It's huge.

Now thew sample german fighter card:
