Start of turn 6 (13 July 1942). Clearly, any thought of taking Voronezh and advancing past it to the north, requires committing the 6.Armee in support of the combined force of 2.Armee/4.PanzerArmee. By selecting to instead attack with 1.PanzerArmee, the Axis players spread out the powerful mechanized formations too much. Further play would most likely result in the capture of Rostov and advance slowly to the Don, possibly a little beyond. But time is against the Germans, supply dwindles, strength dwindles, mud arrives, and if you haven't won an auto victory... you must hold out against the mighty Soviet Counter Offensive. This play the Axis has 27 VP at turn 6... a respectable score. However, there are way too many Soviet units still on the map.
