I found a copy of Third Reich on a shelf of KB Toys in a mall in Spartanburg, S.C., back when I was still in middle school. I played it solitaire every night for the next month, although I did not understand half the rules. Eventually I purchased Panzerblitz and Panzerleader, and then then a few other games. My first 10 games were all Avalon Hill! I now own hundreds from all publishers.

I emigrated from Poland with my parents in 1981. From an early age I was always interested in military history. I learned chess when I was 6 and recreated the battle of Jutland with Legos when I was 12, before I ever knew about real wargames.
Recently I published an autobiographical book about my college experiences entitled: Beer, Chicks and Wargames. It is available from Amazon.
