Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
My favourite uncle gave me a copy of Tactics II when I was 15. I don't think my parents ever forgave him.
Your favorite game(s):
Just a few, at random: Minuteman, King of the Tabletop, Battle for Germany, The Awful Green Things From Outer Space, Go, The Creature That Ate Sheboygan, Nicaragua, PRESTAGS, Beda Fomm, Dark Nebula, Ogre, Melee, Raid!
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Greek Civil War, Konarmiya, Balkan Gambit - playtesting my own horn, as it were.
What game(s) have you played recently?
Chess, Go, The Creature that Ate Sheboygan, Search for the Emperor's Treasure, The Awful Green Things from Outer Space, Kings and Things, Mertwig's Maze, all with my son... we've been on a Tom Wham kick.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
varies, perhaps 1 or 2 hours a week
How big is your game collection?
BGG.com says I have over 1,000 games. I'm inclined to believe it, as I'm not going to go back and count them again!

You can search the tags for "game design" or "wargames" for game-related content. Otherwise it's some memes and me musing on stuff.

Hi, good to see you in the groups "World of designing" and "Ici". Soon there will be a public game of Ici, played with comments, for everyone to follow. I believe you have a certain interest in the Algeria war :-)

I picked up an updated edition of P. W. Singer's 'Corporate Warriors' at Kinokuniya last night. Hopefully, this doesn't have that silly, flippant tone of 'Wired for War' which was attempting a cross-over mainstream appeal for increased sales. There…

I thought the only possible mitigation could come from severe mental illness, or perhaps a cerebral parasite that's eating away at the tastefulness center of the brain.

I suppose the bad taste of it can be ameliorated by assuming they're for Halloween. Such assumptions are occasionally required to tolerate ones own species.
