I am an old school rpg/social board game player who has only recently delved into the world of wargame simulations. I am using Nicholas Palmer's old books on the hobby as an introduction to the "classics" of the genre and am working my way through old issues of S&T while scouring eBay for games on in the Palmer books. I subscribe to both S&T and WAW, and have been purchasing BATTLES.
