I am not an artist but the sketches are good. They look like wood cuts or acid etchings and then printed. I will show them to my brother, a graphic artist. He should find them interesting. Check out his Civil War sketches are my page. Enjoyed the ph…

Dr. Mark Moyar's very controversial A QUESTION OF COMMAND: COUNTERINSURGENCY FROM THE CIVIL WAR TO IRAQ. This guy just loves to gore sacred cows.

Read: "Famous Welsh Battles" by Philip Warner. Good "The Great Partition: The Making of India and Pakistan" by Yasmin Khan. Excellent overview of this calamity for India. Recommend.

I like it too, but wish that he'd gone further than the liberation of Rome; there was a lot more story to tell with the rest of the march up Italy.

You will find this book an amazing tale. I finished it last summer and found this volume as good as his first on the US Army in North Africa. I believe his last book in the trilogy will be the best yet. As my dad was wounded at Anzio and never reall…

Thanks for the tip (for Tear Down this Wall). I'm going through a Cold War phase.

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I am a relatively latecomer to this lobby. I started 'wargaming' in the late seventies with the Usborne Battle Books. I remembered re-fighting the Battle of Arsuf over and over again with my little sister. Later, I found SPI's 'Napoleon' in 1982 and Squad Leader in 1983-4. I played Avalon Hill's 'Alexander the Great' and a couple of others from 1985. Afterwards, I was lost in the RPG wilderness and collectible card hell for years. I eventually returned to wargaming in the mid-nineties. These days, I am just not very active.
Your favorite game(s):
I haven't played enough to name a favourite.
What game(s) have you played recently?
Nothing. I haven't played in a year or two.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Very little unfortunately.
How big is your game collection?
I think it is about a hundred items or so now.
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)

Regarding your comment upon my Berlin Central Station photo: Yes, bicycles and cyling are quite popular in Germany, especially in university cities where lots of students and young people live. The bikeways are great and cyclists enjoy some privileges such as the permission to enter one-way streets from the wrong direction. Some cities even offer "bicycle streets" where bikes always have the right of way. In addition, mountain and race biking are extremely popular sports. Last but not least, more and more people commute by bike / train since the gasoline prices reached new heights this year.

Not this Friday, as the wife and I have to pick up grandchildren from daycare at 5PM and hang with them until 8PM. That little chore is variable once weekly.

If you find some PM hours this weekend we can start the campaign game and I can try out some Allied strategy.

Well then I shall continue to "ping" away. The use of multi-decks (Operational, Limited War and Total war) should provide some interesting variations with the historical record.
