I remember playing KORSUN POCKET at one of the earliest MONSTER.CONs in Tempe. Jack tells me the revision benefits from a great deal of OOB scrubbing, with the help of Dave Glantz's access into the Soviet archives since this game was first published…

How realistic is it that this game will be republished? I have the old original and agree it's an epic - one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Also have NES's Killing Ground and would agree that this is an ideal format for a reprint.

There are a few ceremonies here in the Cleveland area. I was planning a trip to NYC on 9/11 but decided it wasn't the best idea at this time. I would only be able to afford one day. Hoping Mr. J and I can go for a trip. There is a lot to do and see…

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I got started back in 1977 with Tactics II and then PanzerLeader which were gifts from my sister. Then I bought Terrible Swift Sword, Panzergruppe Guderian and NAW's Wagram. I also started the Wargames Society in high school.
Your favorite game(s):
Right now OCS is my main favorite, having started with Enemy at the Gates in 2005 (so i'm just a little late to the party) I have Case Blue, Hube's Pocket, Tunisia , EatG., and most recently Burma.
But,I have always enjoyed most of RHBerg's games, especially Great Battles of the American Civil War, starting with TSS and Stonewall and up to todays "Dead of Winter" and Gringo. (I particularly love Gringo as it combines TSS and Veracruz !).
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
I just received MMP's "Stalingrad Pocket II"; I just Ordered GMT's "Devil's Horsemen"
What game(s) have you played recently?
I have GMT's Latest and Greatest GBACW "Dead of Winter", many subscription mags and games to set up and play:from ATO, in the mail : "There Must Be A Victory!", World at War #7 RHBERG's "Greek Tragedy", and the recently-arrived S&T #258 "The Santiago Campaign".
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
33 hours a week and more
How big is your game collection?
455+ games or so...
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
Toledo, Ohio...well....I like CABS but cant seem to get to Columbus enough !
About Me
I am a Full Blood Oglala Lakota, born on Pine Ridge reservation (South Dakota). I served 13 years in the U.S. Army as a 98G3LRUY, medically retired due to Rhuematoid Arthritis and currently having my hips and knees replaced by the VA.
Married with FOUR Grand sons...four...ALL boys...yes, Quite a handful. (but they go home at some point! -anyone with grandchildren knows EXACTLY what I mean)
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
A Deep and Abiding Interest in the U.S. Civil War, World War II with emphasis on the Soviet Union and it's epic struggle with Hitler's Germany, and some of the more obscure areas of History, with emphasis on Eastern Europe . (the natural function of a 98G Russian ). Also I still have family back on the Rez, in South Dakota and the usual esoteric involvements that all entails.
I Cant really recall the last good movie I saw.

At Buckeye GameFest VIII, David Mignerey and I, as the Soviets, playing the upcoming OCS "Baltic Gap".

Yes, missing the usual CSW...TGIF, and it should be back !

I also miss The Marketplace folder ! ! !

It's amazing to me how much I used ConSimWorld. I use WebGrognards alot; BGG Very little. The Forums at CSW just have SO MUCH stuff on the games and the systems that it really puts a crimp in my playing any of my old games. There are some games that I do have "Up-to-Date" errata, etc compiled and stored with the game. But I noticed this past week as I pulled out some older games that I would automatically go to the games folder and see what was there. An… Continue

And......I told you so......

I was thinking about letting it go a Full Year since I had last posted, but No.

I do get involved with various things. I do try and keep up with CSW The Main page.

But, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND " HOW " people manage to keep "Blogs". The mere Act of doing things "Blog-Worthy" keeps me from being able to Blog! Then I see that not only do people manage to write in their own Blogs, they also manage to keep track of Other people's Blogs !!!

Then, there are the Tangents.

Weirdness rears it's savage hea… Continue

Busy

Quite busy. TWO Car accidents: my wife (not major, only a rear bumper to replace) and my step-daughter (her van -which we co-signed for- utterly demolished; she is not hurt, at all, fortunately,).

I am now 2nd Vice-Commander for my American Legion Post. Always a nice feeling, winning elections.

Memorial Day = Memorial Day Parade in Downtown Toledo and Decorating the Veterans' Graves. We
usually have school groups helping to place the flags on graves. Then Memorial Day
Day itself with Mass, Mem… Continue

George W, Bush is going to buy me a Wargame...or three.....or four....

My wife and I have had our taxes done, refund received, since the end of January. Now, of course, all talk is centered on the Rebate Checks to be sent out in May. Due to the Way Life Goes, My wife put her name first on the Tax Return. Had she put MY NAME first, we would be receiving the Rebate Direct Deposit on May 2nd. Her SSAN last two digits are -OF COURSE- "99".

But, that's alright. It merely gives me more time to see what Game I want to buy...

FIRST !!!!

I have The List..... I started… Continue

It's worse than forgetting about 9/11. We've returned to the isolationist idea that it was our fault - that if we just ignore what's going on in the rest of the world (except for a few benefit rock concerts and t-shirt sales), that we can go on with our lives like this forever. Which is also why, of course, that we elected a President who wants everybody to like us - rather than respect us (and not even our so-called "allies" respect us any more).

Thanks Dan. I'm planning to do just that once things settle down a little here. Still living a hotel room and trying to find a house to buy, Once I have a moment to contemplate something else, I'll start making the battlefield rounds.

Hi Daniel: I see you are out there in the sticks (just kidding). I remember, when I was kid, the airport was out in the sticks. Not anymore. OCS, eh? I've purchased many but have yet to play any.

Hello. I grew up in Toledo on the east Side. I went to Waite HS. I now live in Michigan NE of Detroit. I have a good friend in Northwood OH who plays games, esp ASL. Do you play ASL?

Daniel,

May 2-4, would be a good choice. There is also a CABS meeting on May 2. You could maybe come on Thursday night. I could set up EAT-G Scenario of Case Blue. You could play the Godless Reds against my Defenders of Western Civilization.
