David Lubin replied to David Lubin's discussion Should Rommel have rushed to the coast on D-day.
"O.K. that is true the war was lost at this point, but if Rommel could have gotten Hitler to release the Panzer reserves with-in the first day of the invasion it would have been a different time for the Allies..  I am not looking to see how it…"

"O.K. I am not commenting on who's strategy they should have followed (von Rundstedt or Rommel).  What I am asking is:  If Rommel went to see Hitler instead of racing for the coast could he have convinced Hitler (Hell even wake him) to…"

Dennis A. Spors replied to David Lubin's discussion Should Rommel have rushed to the coast on D-day.
"Hitler should have listened to  FM von Rundstedt. Inflict the maximum casualties on the Allies but realize you cannot hold the line given their superiority on land and air. But again... we are talking about the Bohemian Corporal being logical."

Saipan & Tinian - Legion Wargames

O.K. this is my first game purchased (I also got The Jewish War) from Legion Wargames. So I was not sure what to expect. The game comes with two Maps of both Islands (Tinian is a 11" X 17" and Siapan is a 17" X 22"), three rule books (basic rules, Specific rules for Siapan and Tinian), all the charts and and tables, and some 528 counters.

Saipan & Tinian are their first effort in their Island War Series (IWS)

As I said since this was my first purchase from them and I have… Continue

German set up thougths

There is very little latitude here for setting up in any Normandy invasion unless you are

using some modified or free set-up. Here

are my thoughts on this limited adjustment of the German set-up. I will begin with the placement of the German

Strong-points. In my opinion there are

three basic set-ups. You can either put

the stronger…

The Battle for Normandy Solo Campaign Game.

Hello all I hope you will enjoy this particular blog. It really is my first blog I am doing so please tell me what you think - truthfully I can take the bad criticism as well as the bad. But please be a little gently with the bad criticism I am after all a virgin at this.

As the tittle shows this will be a series of Blog Entries for my solo game of The Battle for Normandy (GMT). I will also try and compare this BfN with a couple of my other favorite Monster Games The…

Dave--sorry I didn't see your comment sooner--I play anything really but my first love is WWI or WWII era games. I'm about an hour south of Trenton near Philadelphia and the Walt Whitman bridge.

I have PanzerBlitz, Panzer Leader, Starship Troopers, and the recently released PanzerBlitz: Hill of Death. I also have many custom-made counters and scenarios from several independent and third-party providers.

Unfortunately, these last few months have seen all of my table space occupied by a large (24' x 26') expansion to my model railroad, Europabahn. (I haven't even opened the 'Hill of Death' game!

Dave, I am in the process of learning Vassal... Once done, I'm a big SCS fan. Played them all but Fallshirmjeager (sorry for the spelling) and only half a game of Bastogne.

From there I would play online.
