"At first I thought of the map as being cluttered and difficult to look at. LOS did not seem correct either. After reading through the rules 3 or 4 times in a week and restarting NBH 2 or 3 times I find I like the flow of the game. I think the…"
""how does technology help or hurt the boardgames"
I am not an AI technology expert in any sense. However, my reading of the literature suggests that AI is not much more advanced now than it was 10 years ago. In no way does it match…"
I came to the hobby in 1976 while in Graduate School at the University of Illinois. My first game was GDW's Waterloo game. This was followed by John Hill's "Kasserine Pass". From there I was hooked. I acquired my first game while reading John Keagan's "Face of Battle" because I was not satisfied with the maps in the book.
After a career in Information Technology, (Data Processing when I got in), I retired and became a Librarian.
I am married to Bea and we have five grandchildren. We are both Roman Catholics. We attend St Patrick's Church in Columbus, Ohio, where we have come to love Dominican Spirituality reverence for the Sacraments.
My apologies to the good Jesuit Fathers.

Hi David !!! Yes, we definitely have to get some gaming in soon. Is the first part of May good or the 2nd - 3rd of May ? I have P-500'ed SPQR Deluxe which GMT says will be shipping in May.
And I am totally enthused about "Case Blue". What a Great Game !! Citino goes very well with it (except for sending me on side-trips to North Africa). And I have also run into the 'void' of the Caucasus Campaign -as far as detailed historical accounts go. I do have Gen. A.A. Grechko 's "Bitva za Kavkaz" on order (Copyrighted 1967) which is supposed to be pretty good, lite on the usual Triumph of Socialism Propaganda and heavy on actual facts. Grechko was Army Commander for 21st and 64th armies.
I'm putting together a bunch of second hand stuff, like Liddell- Hart, but it is really a neglected theatre. I am also looking for some of the German memoirs that cover it.
I MUST play OCS "Case Blue" with All the maps set up. I simply cant do it justice with the space available to me.
