Jim, I think you're friend needs to get a life if that's what bothers him. I don't believe any flat surface will be perfect. If the cards are bumped or moved a bit, well, then you just adjust them the best you can. After all, it's only a game. I mea…

I agree. We have a lot of corporate welfare at the state level too, and it's almost always a complete waste of money. The government shouldn't be picking the winners and losers of the marketplace.

Corporations should file chapter 11 bankruptcy rather than be propped up and owned by the gov't. I say down with corporate welfare as well. The President is going to bankrupt the whole country with these bailouts.

I like to use Battle Cry. The figures with the flags look appealing, especially for younger gamers. After the mechanics of BC are absorbed, I might try Ancients or Memoir. I also like Wings of War as an introductory game with the minis. I also think…

Remember Flag Day on Sunday, June 14th

Remember the 232nd anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes on June 14, 1777 is celebrated across the fruited plain this Sunday. I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.

I'd love to see more open source work, but I'm especially thinking of computer games. That would allow not just designers, but the developers, to look "under the hood" to see what makes a good game work. Even if that education is taken to commercial…
