I was sold on this series by this photo - those maps are gorgeous! As a result, I have now taken the plunge and snared copies of Grant Takes Command (currently set up on my one table - Stonewall in the Valley, Stonewall's Last Battle and Battle Abov…
Fans of the GCACW series, started by Avalon Hill and now published by MMP. Titles include: Stonewall Jackson's Way, Here Come The Rebels, Roads to Gettysburg, Stonewall in the Valley, Stonewall's Last Battle, On To Richmond, & Grant Takes Command.
I want to make it to Tmpe again but other things have gotten in the way like a new career for the 'Finance Manager'. She is halfway through her training to be a Probation and Parole Officer and that training takes her away from Sunday night through Thursday night. I pick her up today and we will eat some Korean food at a place we haven't been before. Also, all our kids (3) moved back and that includes a grandson, two granddogs and a grandcat. This place is busy and crowded. The war room has been banished to the corner of the master bedroom. In other words probably not this year. I did make two Origins conventions with a free place to sleep but CSWE is the better venue for wargaming.

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…
Chris:
Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least.

I've recently printed and built "To the Last Man." I was able to play the game and get an idea of its look and feel beforehand thanks to BGG and Cyberboard. It's an excellent game, one well worth the bother.
I _hope_ it is just by unfortunate accid…
