Herschel, welcome to the CONSIMWORLD SOCIAL website!  Hope you find some groups on the games you love to play.  I too have a real weakness for tactical level games; Peter Perla just talked me into buying ARMAGEDDON WAR on sale and it looks spectacular!  Sure, it's not historical, but it's tactical ground warfare in an apocalyptic future and I could not resist.  Plus the system is highly unusual!  I've not played C&C as much as probably should--got the ancients and Napoleonic series titles.
