Ilya, last I know Art Lupinacci of L2 Games has the rights to PANZERGRUPPE GUDERIAN as he was working on a 3rd Edition of this game.  It was supposed to get published years ago, but I suspect MMP's publication of A VICTORY DENIED, also on the Smolensk campaign, might have convinced L2 to wait a while before bringing this game out.   Last I checked on the company website, PANZERGRUPPE GUDERIAN is going to press!

Ilya,

I agree about American wargamers having a better grasp of Russian history; too many Americans have no idea that there was a war in the Soviet Union, let alone that it was the largest and most destructive war in history, even without the rest of World War II.  It has made for some interesting discussions in the political science classes that I teach, when there are both American and Russian students.

Ilya, are there any Russian wargamer groups that play Russian Front games?  Does ANYBODY want to play the Germans if there are?  I have a hard time playing the Germans and love Russian Front games.  I always take the Soviet side.

Sounds like you like Napoloenic Warfare, too--are there people who play those games as well?  Clash of Arms Games company here is going to republish a huge board wargame on Borodino...it's a classic...and the hard corps types among us can't wait for it to come out!

I think the wargamers in the United States generally have a better sense of Russian history that nearly any other American because we play these games.  But it would be great to get a Russian perspective on what we think!
