Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
Richthofen's War, way back in 4th grade. My father brought it home from Gemco, put it in my lap and said "have fun." I did.
Your favorite game(s):
Next War, Russian Campaign, Fortress Europa, Sinai, most of the old SPI stuff.
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Trying to give CDGs another chance.
What game(s) have you played recently?
It's been a while since I've gotten to play one. Can't remember the last one.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Almost none these days.
How big is your game collection?
I try not to be a collector and only keep things that interest me. Mostly my games cover modern conflict. That said, the collection is starting to get pretty extensive.
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
I'm in Purcellville, VA. Would like to game at my house if you're local (kids and all keep me from traveling much on weekends)
About Me
I'm an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean, VA.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
I watch more TV than I used to, but I used to spend most of my spare time reading.

Hello Jon,

For some reason I hadn't fully made the connection between you and Rich Phares until I had breakfast with him this weekend.

All the best - Tom

Yes, the time frame makes it even more amazing. But at base, that advanced game - whether rushed or not - works. Now, I wouldn't want to play that deep of a game all the time, but for the once, it was awesome. I spent a few weeks just trying to understand it, and when I got it, it was one of those "aha!" moments that make you feel good about the learning experience.

I wish Mr. Bay would grace us with more designs.

Jon, Thanks for the comments on my blog. I have to say, you had one heck of an Exciting Cross-Country Trip. I'm glad to see you made it through with as minimal damage as possible. (I did a couple of DITY moves in the Army; ALWAYS in the back of my mind was that possibility of Something Bad. I, fortunately, managed to not have an adventure like that.) But, with a new chapter in your life, Welcome to the East....where all the Battlefields are located!!! I suggest you start with Antietam -still fairly 1860's atmosphere, still quietly beautiful and still staggering to comprehend.
