Your introduction to consim gaming:
Highschool Chess Club: I wasn't a member but played with guys who where. One guy introduced me to Warp War during lunch and I was hooked from then on. I went over to his house and he showed my his game collection, mostly stuff from Avalon Hill. I soon had catalogs from Avalon Hill and SPI, began ordering anything that looked interesting and then subscriptions to Strategy and Tactics and the Avalon Hill General soon followed.
Your favorite game(s):
My gaming phase came in two parts. I gamed in highschool and while I was in the Navy continuously with Starfleet Battles and the original Squad Leader series being my favorites. After the Navy, 1987-2000, and before the internet, my gaming died off for lack of opponents in my hometown. I'd buy a game every now and then at the only local store that sold them but then would not get to play them except solitaire. After I finished my EE degree I moved to Dallas; this was my rebirth of gaming once I found websites such as Consimworld and Boardgamegeek and was able to locate a group of local wargamers, North Texas Wargamers, in the DFW area. Now I'm partial to the card driven wargames by GMT, multi-player strategy games with some type of conflict from FFG, and block games by Columbia.
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
None at the moment
What game(s) have you played recently?
Guns of Gettysburg
Crown of Roses
Sergeants Miniatures Game (BGG Con 2012 acquisition)
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Probably a couple of face to face games a month
How big is your game collection?
200+ titles. Not a collector - Only buy what I'm going to play(at least that is the intention) 8^).
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
North Texas Wargamers - Once a month game meetups.

1812: The Invasion of Canada

Played 1812: The Invasion of Canada with my son on Sunday afternoon. We played the full campaign which ended at the end of turn 6 when the Brits played all their truce cards to end the game with a Brit win. The game first favored the Brits and then swung in favor of the Americans so I decided to try to end it before it swung back in favor of the Americans. Only 5 pages of actual rules, it plays quickly, and it it fun.

BGG Con 2011

November is always a good time for gaming because I attend BGG Con. This year I managed to play 14 wargames at BGG Con between Tues evening to Sunday morning. Five of those games were games of Sekigahara; this was probably my favorite game of the con.

I created a BGG Geeklist of all the wargames I played during the con at the link below:

Ones that come to mind include:
