Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I'm 41, have been gaming since I was in high school. I cut my teeth playing FITE & Scorched Earth back in the GDW days. I've remained a fan of the larger games and have played a lot of operational and strategic WW2 stuff. I'm looking for local face to face play and would prefer once a week or ever other week.
Your favorite game(s):
The Gamers OCS series, GMT's Barbarossa series, Europa, Battle for Normandy (GMT), Columbia's Blocks, Some of the standard combat series by the Gamers/MMP. Barb to Berlin and I'd be interested in some of the ancients stuff.
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Games OCS, GMT Barbarossa
What game(s) have you played recently?
Not much, no one to play around here and Jet does not work on a MAC. I'd be up for vassal games, but really would like face to face.
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Not much
How big is your game collection?
About 20-25 games
About Me
I'm a network engineer at our local university and try really hard to be an artist in the evenings. In between all that I love war gaming and miniatures and even do a bit of role-playing. I have a good family with three kids and I am married.

I was born and raised in lovely Flint Michigan and escaped that place in 79 and have lived in central IL since.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Painting, drawing, war gaming. I like to read history books, sci-fi and fantasy novels, though I don't read near as much as I should. I have an eclectic taste in music that is still rooted in my teen years (80's).

Movies... well I run the gambit there as well. Ranging from good war films to spaghetti westerns to action, thrillers and science fiction.

Hi,

I am part of a gaming group here in Indpls.  WE have mostly played WWII strategic games because they are good for mult-player.  Alos, our favorite is World in Flames.  Currently we are playing GDW Third World War whcih will be ending soon.  I am loking for other players to game with us.  I noticed on your posts that you are interested in the Eastern Front Series.  Every other Tuesday and some Saturdays one of the members and I play the Eastern Front Series.  We have Army Group South, Keiv to Rostov, and Crimea all combined and set up,  It is still early enough in the game if you would like to try us out.  On the other Tuesdays, the three of us will meet and we also like the Monster game.  On of our favorites is World in Flames.  I have been gaming since high school cutting my teeth on Waterloo and Battle of the Bulge by AH.  Those were the days.  Anyway, if you would be up for some Face to face gaming, let me know.

Ron

I have relatives in North Olmsted, my niece goes to school and Baldwin-Wallace, and I have friends in Middleburg Heights, so it's very tempting to come up and play.  But Cleveland in February?  Brrrrr!  I guess it's no problem--you are motivated to play mostergames every day!  Seriously, this looks like a blast; if only I could get a week free to play!

Welcome to the CONSIMWORLD Social website, John!  You seem to be a definite monstergame player!  I am too, just have the same problem finding opponents for the larger games--I have room to leave them set up.  Love FTF too much to do the online gaming venue.

I also like the block games and SCS too.
