Kev --- in case this disappears from the chat window: in regards to your question about organic trucks: does 13.2a Sequencing Transport & Supply shed light on your question?
I will have to agree with you there, it is a great game! And the vehicle game play is awesome. I'll need to pick up Leros and try playing it.
The LOS like any TCS game are time consuming as is combat without excellent discipline with crossfire, col shifts etc. We have VERY steep hills here.
Speaking of combat discipline in TCS I had a slew of issues with the fluidity of the combat phase. Overall, for me..the biggest issue was getting my head around changing modes of fire. The cool thing for me with TCS was the fact that Screaming Eagles is a flat game, since its around Veghel the most obstructions are laid out between quite far.
The work around for them was the weather and distance...Dense fog at times, and burn off after x-time...I am still learning how to commit to the ops sheet...
Since I usually play solitaire - Command Control is set in stone for me at the beginning of the game - I usually go by the recommended "stick to your guns" mentality the rules recommend. And changing once the op has failed or accomplished.
Most the battles in TCS Screaming Eagles as opposed to Leros is set through half a day, or a day..so the pitch of battle comes to a crescendo relatively quick...
I definitely agree with what you said regarding Infantry tactics, the way I usually keep up in TCS, I try not to remember too much, and I follow a matrix that I created in a doc...It usually gives me a better understanding to stumble at least 4-6 times with the matrix, and at that point I can remember so much more.
My biggest issue by far is tallying up kill counts in the game, and definitely trying to keep track of all syr/sfa/pf's...
I think sometime soon I plan on writing an AAR for one of my SEiH scenarios...before Red Winter comes to my door, that is...
Have a good remainder of the weekend!
How did you like TCS Leros? I am playing TCS Screaming Eagles in Holland again...I love the game, just a pain in solitaire at times..

Out on the interwebs, Kev. Wikipedia I think.
I have been solo'ing some GBoH "Chariots of Fire" and so have been doing some research on the battles and the time period. It helps me to get in the right mood for playing.
I have been meaning to pick your brain about CC:E and Lock and Load. Primarily the latter. But I want to do some more research first. I have been looking over tactical games of late...
hello all- yes its good to back into gaming!when i think of all those wonderful games i sold-damn!!-now all i have to do is convince my mates to change from miniature gaming to real gaming.
Will do, just trying to navigate around the site at present
Cheers for the welcome! Looking forward to contributing.
Thanks Kev. Taking me longer to aclimate to CSW than to BGG. Different layout etc. Will probably come easier as I force myself to spend more time here. Suggestions for best points of CSW?
I do have a Blog - http://hist-sdc.blogspot.com.au/ however it really is only a mechanism I can use to update a web site while not being able to access to an ftp account -so it doesn't serve as a traditional blog.
