Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty

What's interesting is I am very eco friendly and huge on recycling. But a number of years ago Montgomery County until it was "outed" planned on having police check trash to see if people were throwing any recycleables....

Profile Information

Your introduction to consim gaming:
Hmmm - I can't recall how I stumbled across it. Maybe Pieter de Wilde? Now Consim Social World was our friend Jon Compton who alerted me to its existence. All I know is I tend to visit it nearly every single day when I'm not TDY for the Army.
Your favorite game(s):
TRC?
What game(s) are you currently playing (solitaire, FTF, PBEM, etc.) or wish to play next?
Ici, c'est la France! The Algerian War of Independence 1954-62 is now on the table. In many reviews I kevetch about counters that are difficult to remove, or get ripped no matter how careful you are in their removal. The counters for AWI were the easiest ever in all my years of playing to remove and separate. It was like a Johnson’s baby shampoo moment for there were no tears.
What game(s) have you played recently?
Soon to come:

Santiago Campaign
USAAF
RAF
Frontline General: Italian Campaign Introduction
Pursuit of Von Spee
DropShot
Asia Engulfed
Ranger
Guadacanal (Axis and Allies)
Bulge 20
Crisis 2020

Finished Recently
Honey Springs
Zulu on the Ramparts
First Battle of Britain
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
Too little....
How big is your game collection?
125-140

Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
We are in a Blue Oyster Cult phase thanks to Jim. We saw them twice in as many days - Thursday at the Rams Head in Annapolis (a great bar by the way) and Friday again at the Chameleon Club. Guess who caught the guitar pic from the BOC lead singer, Buck Dharma.

Haiti

SO SOME PEOPLE ARE UNHAPPY THAT CRUISE SHIPS ARE STILL DOCKING AT HAITI, outside the earthquake zone. But Haiti is also suffering from economic devastation, and this is a significant source of desperately needed income and foreign exchange. Stopping these visits might help rich people in developed countries feel better about themselves, but it won’t do anything for Haiti, which still needs money. We saw something like this after the Indian Ocean tsunami, too. The locals made clear that they real… Continue

Christmas Games

What memories are your fonest in terms of receiving and playing games on Christmas? My favorite Christmas in game terms had to be the year I received both Panzerblitz and France 1940 - I vaguely believe that year also saw Origins of WW II come into the house that same Christmas. Other years would see Fortress America and Battle Cry (I was maybe 8). I also need to add in when Katie got me a new version by L2 of Russian Campaign after I came back from Iraq in 2003 - how time flies. Or when my ex g… Continue

Hi Smitty.

In regards to my desire for the deluxe version of Twilight Struggle; I have only seen pictures of it thus far. I wish I had a compelling reason to upgrade to deluxe but have a tough time finding local opponents for the 2008 version that I own. IMHO the mounted board is the biggest reason for upgrading as cheap-o cardboard version has a nasty tendency to warp. I must say that I actually prefer the graphics from the old map better than the deluxe map board. I believe that there are new cards for the deluxe version, although I don't know anything about them. I love my copy of TS but have to admit there is room for tweaking with some of the cards.

cheers,
MikeR.

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.
