I would also like to vote for a relaxation of the "no politics" ban. I know there are a few people who I enjoyed reading and made me think. I found the discussions worthwhile and worth coming to CSW for. I would think that some volunteers to police…

Played "First and Inches" PBP #25 today. Great scenario that has a small unit of Americans defending against a German attack, then American troops counterattacking on the 2nd turn. The scenario has the Germans gaining VP's for each stone building ad…

I've played C&C Epic Ancients: Battle of Gaugamela, twice. ASL: Waltzing Matildas OM-6 as British and lost. Hive: played 4 times and won once. Manoeuvre, British vs French as an intro game and won, barely. Hoping to play some SPQR this weekend.

I have played two boardgames so far this year. Command & Colors Epic, Battle of Gaugamela. ASL "Waltzing with Matildas" OM-6.

Your introduction to consim gaming:
I've been gaming since 1976. I started in boardgaming (3rd Reich and Panzer Leader) then into RPG's. After that I got into miniatures and now play miniatures and boardgames. I game at least twice a week, doing Euro's on Wednesday and Wargames on Saturdays.
Your favorite game(s):
Combat Commander, Command and Colors, Battlecry, Up Front!, Race for the Galaxy, Atlantic Storm, Not War but Murder...lots of miniatures games and periods including AWI, SWY, Ancients, Blitzkrieg Commander
What game(s) have you played recently?
Race for the Galaxy, Combat Commander, Pacific Typhoon, Hammer of the Scots, Storm over Stalingrad
In general, how much time do you spend gaming?
6-10 hours a week, when I can
How big is your game collection?
Not sure
Your local game club(s) and/or where you reside (let's network!)
Reside in the Sacramento CA area and am a member of the Miniature Wargaming Society of Sacramento (not a strictly miniatures club)
About Me
I am a 40 something male (born in 1960) who games both boardgames and miniatures. I generally game at least twice a week. I also hit about three cons a year. I am the surviving founding member of the Miniature Wargaming Society of Sacramento (started in 1986) M_W_S@yahoogroups.com
I play almost any kind of game. I play a lot of Combat Commander, Race for the Galaxy, Up Front!, 1960 Making of an election and just about any other game our group can buy. In miniatures I generally play Ancients, AWI, WWII, Moderns, Vietnam, Necromunda and other SF oriented games.
Personal Interests (favorite activities, movies, shows, books, music, etc.)
Besides gaming I read a lot of Science Fiction, Military history, Modern Gothic novels (Jim Butcher, Charlene Harris, Charlie Huston). I am a member of Netflix and average a movie a week. I am currently hooked on Torchwood and Dr Who.

Excellent. I am getting back to ASL in the coming month...I am missing it a lot. Speaking of GMT West, I was thinking of going up North for that...I'll notify you if that is the case.

Been playing a LOT of ASL lately. Played Friday the 13th today. Lost as Soviets. Very tight scenario. Worth playing again.

Back frm GMT West. Played Successors, Epic Command & Colors, Atlantic Storm & Dominion. Spent $ on Paths of Glory, Kutuzov, Operation Norway, Command and Strategy magazines with Operation Kadesh and a few other games. I got a chance to check out Chad and Kai Jensen's latest effort. Interesting stuff...
GPS in the phone wouldn't let me choose to drive back up I5 so had to go up 99. We played "What's that smell?" on the way back up. We were able to identify skunk and manure but a few odors defied description.

I've found the internal debate (i.e. the debate in my head) has been to either play a lot of games poorly or a few games well. I prefer the latter model, but then you must, as you say, find that set of holy grail games that one chooses to become goo…

Chris: Really - that's a good point. I wonder if the Audi folks realized the message they were sending out with this one. I doubt if anyone found it funny in the least. Smitty

Yes, this was a creepy ad. I looked at the Audi website to compare this car to others. Oddly enough, you are unable to compare it to the VW SportWagon TDI, which gets exactly the same mileage.
