Nadir Elfarra replied to Chuang Shyue Chou's discussion What are you reading?
"I agree, Eric - just finished it this evening.  I appreciated the depth into which the author went - it kept one from simply dismissing the traitor's act out of hand - one could really begin to understand what he was going through and what…"

Nadir Elfarra replied to Chuang Shyue Chou's discussion What are you reading?

Nadir Elfarra commented on David Kurtz's group Opponent Finder: Pacific Time Zone
"Perhaps it would be appropriate to use this list for -finding- your opponent and then, once found, coordinate details off-line?  It would improve the signal-to-noise ratio for people who aren't in your neck of the woods."

Nadir Elfarra replied to Chuang Shyue Chou's discussion What are you reading?
"I read it and thought it was a very, very good book.  I felt there was much to  learn about men in war, particularly with some "reading between the lines."  I agree that it's not a campaign history or traditional…"

Nadir Elfarra replied to John Kranz's discussion What are you playing?
"Just finished up (after a 7 year hiatus!) an on-line game of ASL's A37 - Dreil Team (German win). It was a blast - went down to the last turn and included, as Eric put it elsewhere, the complete "Sgt. Rock comic book" moments where a…"

Nadir Elfarra replied to Shane Woyak's discussion What have you purchased lately?
"Couldn't resist any longer - pre-ordered CoA's "Persian Incursion" just now. I'm about as effective at "dieting" with games as I am with sweets. :( ;)"

Opponent Finder: Pacific Time Zone

Anyone else have difficulty finding opponents available for online play (e.g., Vassal) during Pacific Time hours? I know I do. I though a group to help identify people who fit that profile might be useful to others.

Nadir Elfarra commented on Kimbo's blog post "Golden" Age of Wargaming
"I agree that computers & the internet have made all of the things I've enjoyed about gaming better - finding opponents as Eric mentioned, actually playing the games is easier (vassal/PBeM), the rules are easier to learn (searchable PDF…"

"One of the things I appreciated about it (though it made it more work in some players' eyes) was the fact that it tracked infantry down to the individual soldier. The closest we see that lately (in a squad level game) is the multiple layers of…"
