La Bataille de Mont Saint Jean

I've spent the past few days reading the exclusive rules; punching, clipping and sorting the counters; and finally, setting up the game. Now it's time to get started at Clash of Arm's La Bataille de Mont Saint Jean which combines their La Bataille des Quatre Bras and La Bataille de Ligny. I need to spend some time figuring out command issues; particularly on the Allied side where their corps and divisions seem to be intertwined at the start, plus there's cavalry all over the shop! Once that's…See More

Tactical/Regimental-level Napoleonic Wargames?

There seem to be quite a few difference tactical/regimental-level Napoleonic wargames. Does anyone have experience with a broad range of these, enough to recommend one (or a series) above others?

I like the play-style of the Great Battles of the American Civil War system, and ideally I'm looking for something similar, but in the Napoleonic era.

I don't have much of a…

The Casualties of Wargaming

Here is the situation at the end of the first turn of my game of the Battle of Eylau (The Coming Storm by OSG) - note the shot-glass chit holder over on the bottom-left:

The next image shows the first casualty of the battle - my beloved shot glass chit holder. A careless elbow saw this flying…

Three Days of Gettysburg - Situation at 3pm, 1 July, 1863

Here's another composite image of the situation at 3pm, 1 July, 1863. Rodes' Division has struck against the Iron Brigade (and Wadsworth's Division in general) north of Gettysburg. Initially Cutler's brigade on the left attempted to hold their position against Rebel shock attacks, but, they lost three out of four results (shock combat really favours the attacker); and so the Iron Brigade decided to withdraw before shock combat instead of risking losses. They'll slowly pull back to the town…

Little Round Top – 1700-1800 hours – ‘Race for the heights of Little Round Top!!!

This continues from my earlier report of the 1600-1700 turn (see here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/985670/little-round-top-... ). As I noted there, a lot is happening on a tactical level so I’m writing this up based on hourly turns (which take me a week of…
